Single-Use Planet is the perfect blend of irony and sobering reality to encourage museum-goers to think deeper about their current recycling and repurposing habits.

Artists' Note:
As the title suggests, we are inspired by the use of single-use plastics. Despite only being used once, these items can last for forever, with devastating impacts on the planet. We wanted to explore what this would look like in a museum context; where items from long ago are put on display. We see rubbish-based sculptures set to a poetics soundscape, a crazed doomsday person, and the fallout in a museum displaying the long-lasting plastics. We hope our ironic approach doesn’t guilt-trip audiences, but rather encourages them to more deeply consider the state of the planet. Single-Use Planet reminds visitors to think about our world today and our world tomorrow, still bearing the consequences of our actions.
